Last week I talked about how the world seems to be “on tilt” right now, a situation that makes a lot more sense if you play poker. If you want to understand the world, you need to be playing poker.
Poker is a strange game because it breaks one of the expectations that games are a closed space. This is because poker used money, and money comes from the “real world.” It’s a game, but it’s more than just a game.
Poker can be played without money, but it’s a vastly different experience and one I think is stupid. It ends up being more of a casual social game than a serious strategic contest. You can play without money, but you won’t learn anything useful about the world.
