In just one week we will be playing poker again! I've been recruiting, so expect some new faces. If you haven't played in a while then next week's tourney will be a great time to return and win some of their money.

All the details are below 👇, but before we get into that I want to talk about my favorite emoji.
MONEY MOUTH
Money-Mouth Face, as it is officially known, was approved as part of Unicode 8.0 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
If you track the Unicode Consortium notices back far enough you get to the August 2nd, 2012 L2/12-196 “Four new emoticons” proposal from Peter Edberg. He proposed Money Mouth Face along with a few others because it appeared frequently in text messages using the ASCII sequence:

Peter pointed out that “The sequence :-$ is used for ‘money mouth’ by AIM users, but may be interpreted as ‘don’t tell anyone’ (lips are sealed) by Yahoo! users.” This discrepancy between AIM and Yahoo! was the reason to create Money Mouth Face.
Peter Edberg and Mark Davis followed up this informal proposal two years later in August of 2014 with the more formal L2/14-174R which contained a number of new emojis.
Peter Edberg is a former Apple engineer who was the Unicode Consortium representative for Apple and made a Unicode Fellow in 2021.
And in conclusion, I’m happy to announce my adoption of the Money-Mouth Face.

🔥 Bonus Rules In Effect
Mean Girls: Players on the official Zoom call during the game may collude against players who are not on the official Zoom call during the game, provided that the absence is not a temporary one due to technical issues.
The Final Countdown: If seven deuce is played as the final hand of the tournament the player will be given two shares, and if a player wins the tournament with seven deuce they will receive seven shares.
Kevin Deuce: If you are the first person of the night to beat someone at showdown with unsuited K2 and yell “Kevin Deuce!” Beau will give you a share.
Note: Some bonus rules are on pause until fractional support added to admin functions.
